Natural vs. Lab-Grown Diamonds, Explained | BY L'AIMÉ NEW YORK

Natural Diamond

Formed over billions of years deep within the Earth, natural diamonds are rare by nature — shaped by heat and pressure long before they ever reach the surface. No two are alike, and only a small fraction are ever found in gem quality. That rarity is part of what they carry.

Lab-Grown Diamond

What it is. A lab-grown diamond is grown by humans instead of found in the Earth — but it's still a real diamond. Same chemical makeup, same crystal structure, same look to the eye. The only real difference is where it came from.

How we choose ours. Every lab-grown diamond we use is graded the same way a natural one would be — checked for color, clarity, cut, and carat weight, with a report to match. Each stone is laser-inscribed so its origin is always clear, never a question.

We work with both GIA natural and IGI lab-grown depending on what a piece calls for.
